I haven't been doing so well. It seems "the Geek's" upset radar has totally gone out of wack. I don't think I'm even getting the number of them right as well as which games they're goona be. Let's take a look at the standings up to this point:

Jimmy 'the Geek' last week: 7-6. That puts me at 35-25 overall. That wouldn't be leading any office pools.
didn't do much better, picked a couple of different winners, but also had a couple of other loosers and went 7-6, to keep us tied at 35-25.
By contrast, put us both to shame by going 9-4 for the week to extend his lead to 39-21, and show up the blogging "pros."

Hopefully I'll do better this week. Let's get started:

Sunday, October 5th: (All times Eastern)
Tennessee(4-0)-3 at Baltimore(2-1) (1pm, CBS) Titans
San Diego(2-2)-6.5 at Miami(1-2) (1pm, CBS) Chargers
Washington(3-1) at Philidelphia(2-2)-6 (1pm, FOX) Redskins
Seattle(1-2) at New York(3-0)-7 (1pm, FOX) Giants
Indianapolis(1-2)-3 at Houston(0-3) (1pm, CBS) Colts
Kansas City(1-3) at Carolina(3-1)-9.5 (1pm, CBS) Panthers
Atlanta(2-2) at Green Bay(2-2)-7 (1pm, FOX) Packers
Chicago(2-2)-3.5 at Detroit(0-3) (1pm, FOX) Bears
Tampa Bay(3-1) at Denver(3-1)-3 (4:05pm, FOX) Broncos
Buffalo(4-0) at Arizona(2-2)-1 (4:15pm, CBS) Bills
New England(2-1)-3 at San Francisco(2-2) (4:15pm, CBS) Patriots
Cincinati(0-4) at Dallas(3-1)-17 (4:15pm, CBS) Dallas
Pittsburg(3-1) at Jacksonville(2-2)-4 (8:15pm, NBC) Jaguars

Monday, October 6th:
Minnisota(1-3) at New Orleans(2-2)-3 (8:30PM, ESPN) Saints

BYE: Clevland(1-3), New York (Jets)(2-2), Oakland(1-3), St. Louis(0-4)

By now, you all know that I've got the 'Hawks/Giants game on as my early Fox game. You'll notice I didn't pick my beloved Seahawks to win this game. I might be a big fan, but when it comes to betting, my pa always said to pick the winner. Seattle has a history of under-performing anytime they have to play in the early game on the East coast and the Giants are the defending champs, favored by a touchdown. "The Geek" ain't no dummy. I'll be rooting for my 'Hawks, and I'll be happy if I'm wrong. I figured they'd be 3-0 going into this game. Oh well.

To be honest, the East coast is getting the better game. Zorn is showing himself to be a pretty good head coach in Washington despite that shaky start in Week 1. Philly is a 6 point favorate playing at home, but I'm picking this game as my upset of the week. Let's face it, Zorn was just a QB coach, probibly one of the best. He was just suppose to be an offensive corrdinator which is the natural progression, but got the bump to head job when certain things happened in Washington. He's still calling the plays though, I don't think oposing defensive coridinators have figured him out yet. I think this is the game of the week.

I've got the Pats/49ers in the afternoon. I'll probibly clean the house.

Steelers/Jags are always good for some good smashmouth style football. Madden will rave all over this game. This is, of course if the actual Steelers defense shows up. They kinda got lucky last Monday night...

There is something to be said about rooting for New Oreleans after the city has to deal with a huricane. The Saints seem to figure they need to actually get on the ball or people will leave the city or something....

On the poll, I don't think there are any clearly outstanding candidates yet. They all have done some great things so far, but equally there are still questions on most of them - so I'd have to say "wait and see".

Here's my picks for the week (I hang my head in shame at my performance last week on the picks, but hey, bouncing right back!):

TEN
CAR
CHI
GB
HOU
MIA
NYG
PHI
DEN
BUF
DAL
SF
PIT
NO

Romo hasn't really proven anything yet,

Warner, too many turnovers, come on Kurt, where is the Greatest Show on Turf magic,

Philip Rivers, needs a super bowl appearance to justify this, although I believe he will get one.

McNabb, past his prime, hasn't proven he can win the big one

Favre, Certainly a contender for best in the game.

Eli Manning. Has the Super Bowl ring, has kept on winning this year, Brady is injured, Peyton Manning isn't hitting on all cylinders, yup, my choice is Eli. I hate to admit it. I'm not a Giants or a Coughlin fan.

Brees, Drew is a Super Bowl away from being in contention for best in game.

Campbell, Redskins are much better, Zorn has done wonders with Jason Campbell, still way to early to put Campell in this category.

Cutler, Lofty stats without the playoff wins to support contention for top QB.

1. Eli Manning.
2. Brett Favre
3. Drew Brees
4 Philip Rivers

SI's Peter King is reporting that coach Scott Linehan is expected to be given his "walking papers" if the Rams lose to the Bills on Sunday.
Linehan has the Rams off to an 0-3 start and has nearly lost the faith of his entire offense. Marc Bulger, Steven Jackson, and Torry Holt have all spoken out, or at least hinted, that they're fed up with their head coach.

Oops my power ratings didn't format well.

Ok couple of thoughts.

Firing Matt Millen. Very good decision. Matt has had plenty of time to get it right and hasn't.

Scott Linehan, bad choice benching Marc Bulger. And I am a Trent Green fan. But Bulger isn't the problem. That he is getting zero help from the O line. That is a problem. Trent Green should not even be playing on this team. Dangerous sport especially for someone with Trent's concussion history. Worst O line in football is St Louis' and the highest risk QB for serious life threatening injury is Trent Green. Bad choice to scapegoat Bulger. Linehan was retained this season, give him the remainder of it. But they are awful and if the Rams don't improve. Scott has had his chance.

Lane Kiffin. Al Davis should fire himself. Kiffin is a good coach in a very bad situation.

Detroit, Cinci, very bad teams. Cinci is team thug. Too bad, Marv Lewis is a good coach. Lions should have kept Mike Martz and promoted him to head coach.

After further review, the bucs uniform is the worse of the two. Some retro uniforms are cool. Actually I like the old pats uniform better.

The bucs though, holy shit, those with the buccaneer guy on the helmet are awful.
